Today at 4pm New Wave is returning to Siren 107.3 FM! We’re back for another year of media-related fun, frolicking and more fun. On today’s show we’re taking a big look at the Frequency Digital Arts Festival in Lincoln, as well as talking to a new video producing company. We’ll also be talking once again to Redherring, who we spoke to last year about his musical performances. Since then, he’s been on BBC Lincolnshire and released an album! We’ll be finding out all about his experiences in a comprehensive interview, live, today after 4.

Dik’shon-a-ri Event

On this weeks New Wave show we speak to two second year art students from the University of Lincoln organising their very own unique  art exhibition: Dik’shon-a-ri. The event, called ‘dictionary’ (spelt phonetically) takes places Tuesday 3rd May, displaying a variety of exhibits created to interact with the public with the main theme of ‘Language’. Pop down and take a look…it’s on the high street! The exhibition takes place between 11 -4 outside the House of Fraser, where the girls (along with other art students) will be showcasing a wide range of different work. For more info click the link to  their official website; Dik’shon-a-ri. You can also find out more on their facebook and twitter pages. Good luck from all at the New Wave team!

New Wave New Stage: Voakes

This week on the New Wave New Stage, we have more of Lincoln’s fantastic indie/alternative scene, with up-and-coming band Voakes!

They came on the show this week and answered our “Either Ors”, and we heard their track “We Are The Number”, as well as explaining about their band name (named after an accountants! Now there’s a glamorous story for you!).

There are four fantastic tracks available for you to hear online through their various websites, and make sure you look out for them coming soon to a venue near you!

You can check out Voakes on Facebook, MySpace or their newly created YouTube:
